Lenten Notes...
Please note that Ash Wednesday is this week, February 22nd. Worship services with the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion are at noon and 7:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran on Carroll Street. Bethany is our partner in LUMA (Lutheran Urban Ministry in Akron).
The poster concerning our Wednesday night soup/bread supper and worship is now on the info-tower. If you are able to donate either a crockpot of soup or a loaf of bread for the meal, you are invited to sign the poster.
During Lent there will be a prayer wall next to the office door in the hall. You will find slips of paper & pens for you to write prayer concerns, and then you may pin them to the board. Your prayer concerns need not be signed.
Also during Lent, you are encouraged to collect loose change and drop your coins in the various containers throughout the church. All monies collected will go to our malaria nets campaign.
Prayer for the Month of March: The members of the Prayer Chain would like members of the congregation, as well as visitors, to join them in focusing each month on praying for a special group or event. This will be in addition to praying for those people who are mentioned in the yellow pages. For the month of March the prayer will be for the UNIT 237 of the National Guard (a full service medical unit) from Akron who have recently been deployed to northern Afghanistan.
